Across Malawi, too many families are going without a reliable, nourishing meal — and that shortage hits hardest during pregnancy and early childhood, when good nutrition makes the biggest difference to growth and survival.
A £9 donation provides 1 hot meal made up of meat, rice, water, yogurt, and fresh juice — a balanced plate that adds protein, energy, hydration, and essential nutrients when they’re needed most.
The need is clear in the latest national data: 38% of children under five are stunted, 10% are underweight, and 2% are wasted.
Feeding gaps also persist: 60.1% of babies under 6 months are exclusively breastfed, and only 23.9% of children aged 6–23 months meet the minimum dietary diversity standard.
Among babies who were weighed at birth, 13.9% were recorded below 2,500g (a crude estimate reported in the 2019–20 MICS).
For mothers, anaemia remains widespread: 31.4% of women aged 15–49 are affected.
Give £9 today to place a hot, nourishing meal in someone’s hands in Malawi.
