Pakistan Wheelchairs (£99)

Your support helps provide a wheelchair to someone in a low-income community who cannot afford one in Pakistan —helping them move safely, access healthcare, and take part in daily life with dignity
Across Pakistan, many people with mobility limitations are effectively trapped at home because a wheelchair is unaffordable or unavailable. A policy brief from Johns Hopkins notes a major data gap: WHO estimates at least 31 million people have a disability in Pakistan, yet only 913,667 were recorded as having a disability in the 2017 national census—a discrepancy that highlights how easily needs are missed and under-supported.
A wheelchair can restore independence, reduce isolation, and help someone reach school, work, and healthcare.
WHO reports a stark global access gap: of the 80 million people who need a wheelchair, only 5–35% have access, depending on the country. WHO also lists common barriers such as high costs, low awareness, limited access, inadequate product range, and policy/funding gaps.
